In 1991 with a lot of issues I requested a visa so I could go visit my mother in cuba, Even though I’m Cuban I had to ask for permission to enter my country, isn’t that something, I noticed that in foreigners from other countries do not need permission to enter their own country, unlike us that we need to ask permission to kiss our land. After waiting for so a long time, almost a year on January 2nd , 1992 my mother dies; then on January 17th they grant me the visa needed to visit my country, that to me was like a mockery, that is when I decided never to return to Cuba, it was a visa of bad taste. I later spoke via telephone with my sister by sheer luck, or maybe it was the telephone company that might have known my number from calling so much that might have something to do with it and communicated me with my love ones. That is when my sister notified me that I had a grandson named Luis Alberto, I was filled with joy knowing I was a grandfather, that is when I decided to visit Cuba, not for the love of the island, but I had a grudge that was burning my soul knowing that my mother had died and I was not able to say my goodbyes and be at her cepelio, these are the things that happen, well that is not a knife stabbing for a fine rooster. I returned to the U.S. to continue my function and try to recuperate from that great pain. In the year 1993 I was invited to the island and I told those friends that I was never going to return to Cuba, that I had lost the most important thing a human can have a mother.
On the year 1994 I contacted my family, I did not want any of my sons/daughters to leave the island on escape boats, imagine the small vessel I came across in was like a small piece of paper on the high seas, what can you expect from a the back portion of a truck, I was witness to the many vessels that sank in the sea with a lot of people yelling for help, after the boats sinking all you could see was a sea of blood everywhere, In 1995 I spent my time gathering the stories and treaties I had written by hand. In 1996, I received Pinaldo. In 1997 I finished the studies of Santeria, that is when I was preparing myself and organizing the documents that I mentioned earlier so I could start writing, I was then criticized by a lot of Santeros, for throwing the seashells, but in reality I have never asked anyone for anything. In 1998 I went to a lift (levante) as a pinaldero at the house of Miriam Pupo. In 1999, I worked as an Oriate in Phoenix Arizona, and I retired because a lot of Santeros want the Oriate to do what they want, and with me there is nothing like that, money does not take away my religious principals, It all means that it took me longer to write all that I had in mind, my first book came out in 2000, and in 2001 I wrote my second and third volume, during 2002 and 2003 I wrote volume 4 and 5, in collaboration with my daughters book (The Tarot of The Mayombero). During 2004 through 2006 were years of much dedication and work that is when I wrote The Lie of The Profane One, Gangulero Until Death, Money or Religion, The Best of The Palero and the Book of the Decade. In 2005 I wrote the Treaties of The Brujo and The Counter Attack of Entuala Kongo, The unfaithful Religious Ones, that I have finished. I’m also collaborating on a book called The Legend Continues by the writer William Castro, from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and when I finish with that book I will start writing a book called “Discover your Astral Life”.
That has been my dedication, a lot of people say that I want to get rich, but I ask, who would not want to.
